UNDERSTANDING WHITE BALANCE
In photography, white balance allows me to balance the colour temperature and provides a balanced colour temperature in order for my photographs to appear natural. All light, on the other hand, has a hue and a temperature. In this image, different light hues will produce varied temperature colours. The Kelvin Scale is a colour temperature scale for light. Below the scale, a warm reddish yellow light will appear, but at about 5500k, the colour will be similar to what we see at midday on a clear day. The light gradually turns bluer as the scale rises.
Tungsten lamps come from incandescent bulbs found in homes. In this environment, my images will be quite warm, nearly orange in tone.
I use blue coloured things with fluorescent lights to create a cool colour temperature and make my images appear blue.
Auto mode makes images in the shade look a little cooler. However, the shade is warmer than cloudy, giving the shot an orange hue. It is more appropriate to use this preset in outdoor areas.
During the midday sun, direct sunlight is the most natural lighting available. This is the most neutral white balance option, and this is the most widely used option for shooting in direct sunlight.
Cloudy is a nice light for capturing cloudy days. This setting provides more warmth to my images, allowing me to take better photos.
